Kenya, as a country with rapid economic development in East Africa, has faced challenges of insufficient power supply and aging power grid in recent years. In order to support the industrialization process and ensure the electricity supply for people's livelihood, our company successfully cooperated with the country's power grid company to purchase projects with its cost-effective oil-immersed transformer products and African market service experience, and exported 25 110kV oil-immersed transformers with a total value of US$6 million.

Product specifications

Model: S11-M-16000/110 (low-loss energy-saving type)

Capacity: 16MVA (for main grid) / 5MVA (for distribution grid)

Voltage level: 110kV/33kV, in line with Kenya's 50Hz standard

Technical features: fully sealed structure, strong overload resistance, adaptable to 40℃ high temperature environment

Logistics plan: adopt "Qingdao Port-Mombasa Port" sea + land transport, use moisture-proof and shock-resistant packaging, and monitor temperature and humidity throughout the process.

Implementation results

The first batch of 25 transformers will be deployed in March 2025.

The power grid line loss rate has dropped from 12.3% before the transformation to 8.1%, and the power outage time in the Mombasa port area has been shortened by 65%.
